Positive: Well decorated and appointed villa that's just outside of Ohakune township for peace & quiet, but still close to everything you need. Not too far from Waiouru (abour 25 mins drive) which is where we had an event to attend, but way better to stay here. Good walks and bush trails nearby. The house decoration really kept the style of a kiwi villa while feeling tastefully up-to-date in style and ameneties. The HUGE TV (aptly named on the wifi when selecting it on my notebook to cast) was great. Dishwasher, espresso machine, great hot water and good pressure shower, all the mod cons to be comfortable but still felt like a "holiday home villa". Good radiator style heating which we were very glad of, since we are used to more tropical climate. We were two adult couples but there was extra room(s) with bunks for kids if you needed them. Highly recommend The Board House if staying in Ohakune / Waiouru area.
Negative: The lighting in the kitchen / living area was a bit dim, especially for the cooking area. It looks great at night when watching TV but when you need to prepare a meal or get stuff done it was a bit dim.
Summary: Stylish villa and very comfortable place to stay, conveniently located for Ohakune / Waiouru.
